5/7/2008 - The City staff has approved the contractor for the Capital Improvement Project and gave them the contracts to sign. As of last night, the City was expecting that the contracts would be signed and delivered to the City today or tomorrow. 4/11/2008 - The Parks and Recreation Board approved the Capital Improvement Projects at their regular meeting held April 10, 2008. This includes the Beavers Bend Park Extension project that comprises of pond improvement, hiking and bike trail extension and playground equipment at a construction cost of $965,000.00. The contract is tentatively scheduled to be presented to the City Council for approval and awarding of the contract at the May 20, 2008 meeting. City staff will review the company submitting the bid to make sure that they are satisfied that the company can perform the work. City staff does not have any reason to believe that they can not perform the work. It’s my understanding that the project should be able to begin in June 2008. Walking Trail Playground
